Captain Save a Ho
You may be wondering what brings a person to get to the point where I was now. Was I jealous? Or maybe even possessive? Why didnât I just leave Malcolm and start all over, right? Did I suffer from low self-esteem? The answer is simple. He belonged to me. I put in years and earned my title and the right to be respected as Malcolmâs wife. The children were an investment and we were supposed to be happy. Not going through this type of bullshit that we had going on right now.
There was a time in our life where I was really doing me. I had a steady rotationâa stable, if you willâof able-bodied men who would do anything to serve me. Not that I was addicted to sex, but I wanted what I wanted when I wanted it, and if one wasnât available I always backed up the backup. Malcolm and I were in a sort of in-between stage where he was out doing him as well, and just as I was a part of his rotation he was a part of mine. Everything was good though, because we had yet to talk about getting serious. Things were starting to take off in both of our careers, and neither of us were ready to settle down because we were too busy enjoying the limelight.
We were happy for the most part. I mean, I was really enjoying life. I had just gotten the green light for my news program, TeâNae at Ten, which gave me the stage to discuss the things I loved. Fashion! Every woman wanted to be beautiful, and I got an hour every day after the morning news to discuss makeup tips, shoes, and clothes. My favorite segment was âStyle on a Budget,â where I showed women how to look like the stars but with less money. I was ecstatic the producers even okayed it, and once the ratings came in after the first season, the show had been a mainstay and was one of the most watched morning shows.
The show really took off once I started having special guests on my show, and once talks of a real set came into play I knew I had made it big time. I was a weather girl at heart, so although I had gained a control for my show, I was still allowed to do the weather for my beloved city of Philadelphia. I was living my dream, and I was happy.
On the flip side, Malcolm was making a name for himself as well. He was producing more and more behind the music scene, and when he decided to dabble in the film industry it was the best decision he ever made. He was genius with a script, and his background in the music business came in handy when it came time to lay music for a soundtrack. Malcolm could make any vision come to life, and he was good at it. Hell, he was the best at it, and thatâs how he climbed the popularity ladder so quickly.
